***2017 Subscription Membership Fund Drive***
There was a misprint on the subscription form this year and we apologize for any confusion this may have caused. A One Senior Membership is $22 and a Two Senior Membership is $33. The membership amounts online are the correct amounts.

WHY YOU SHOULD BECOME A SUBSCRIPTION MEMBER

The cost of ambulance service can range as high as $1,500, depending on the level of service provided. Most insurance companies, including Medicare and commercial insurers, pay only a portion of the cost of ambulance transportation, requiring the patient to pay a co-payment or deductible.

The patients share of the bill for ambulance service may be over half of the total bill. Our subscription program helps to reduce your out-of-pocket costs by reducing the unpaid portion of your bill. As a contributor to our subscription drive, we will write off a portion of any outstanding balance for ambulance service that is not paid by your insurance.

HOW THE BILLING PROCESS WORKS WHEN YOU NEED OUR SERVICES

At the time that we provide ambulance service, we will ask for your medical insurance information and ask you to sign a form authorizing us to bill your insurance company. If you provide us with these things, we will submit a bill directly to your insurance. If you are unable to provide this information at the time we provide service, our billing contractor will contact you to acquire this information.

Since most insurance plans do not fully cover the cost of ambulance service, we are required to bill our patients for any deductibles, co-payments, or non-covered services. Your subscription may help to reduce these out-of-pocket costs for which you are responsible.

HOW YOUR SUBSCRIPTION BENEFITS LFHRS

Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad staffs two stations 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with dedicated staff providing Advanced Life Support Paramedic service. Furnishing high-quality paramedic ambulance service around the clock is very expensive. We use the funds raised by our subscription drive to purchase new ambulances, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and to pay the salaries and benefits of our professional staff.

Our costs to provide service continue to rise, while reimbursement by insurance companies has dropped. We receive only 11% of our annual operating budget from tax dollars. The remainder of our income comes from billing for our services and from our annual subscription drive. The generosity of the community in contributing to our subscription drive significantly helps us to make ends meet.

WHAT IT COSTS TO PROVIDE YOU WITH HIGH-QUALITY EMS SERVICE

Providing high-quality, efficient EMS service is VERY EXPENSIVE. The vast majority of our revenues come from billing for the ambulance services we provide. Only about 11% of our budget comes from tax support. It is for this reason that we ask for your support of our subscription drive to help make sure that we are there for you when you need us. The following items are some of the larger expenses for which we budget each year;

Personnel Expenses: $2,000,000.00

Medical Equipment and Supplies: $70,000

Vehicle Maintenance/Repair and Fuel: $85,000

Station Maintenance/Repair and Utilities: $73,000

Insurances: $230,000.00

The cost to replace an ambulance is at least $200,000.00. With as busy as we are, we need to replace an ambulance on a regular basis.

AMBULANCE REPLACEMENT CAMPAIGN

Providing high-quality, professional ambulance service is expensive. Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, as a non-profit organization, is almost entirely self-supporting with the majority of our revenues coming from billing for ambulance transportation and our annual fundraising drive. Only about 11% of our operating budget comes from tax dollars. We rely on the support of our neighbors and the generosity of the business community to help ensure that we can continue to provide our services to everyone who needs them.

This year, we are asking our community for assistance with the purchase of a new ambulance. Although our current fleet is well maintained, our call volume is consistently rising. Last year (2014), Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad was dispatched to over 7,200 calls for medical aid. This year, we are on track to break that record again. That is an average of almost 20 calls each day! Our current fleet is aging, and our oldest ambulance is a 2004 International, with over 150,000 miles on it. Your financial backing would be greatly appreciated in our effort to replace just one of our ambulances.

It is our mission to continue to provide the highest quality care available, and your donation would help further this
